More Than 100,000 Health Providers Sign Up for Meaningful Use

CMS announced that 114,644 health care providers have registered for the meaningful use incentive program, up from 90,000 in August. A CMS official said that as of Sept. 30, the agency had doled out more than $850 million in meaningful use incentive payments.

The University of Kentucky Healthcare (UK Healthcare), an Allscripts Sunrise client, was the first
hospital in the country to receive a Medicaid EHR Incentive Program payment! So, the first client in the country to receive a check was an
Allscripts client – how cool is that?!
They received $2.86 million, which is about a third of the total Meaningful Use payments that they expect to receive from Medicaid over the
course of the program.
